Compared with the original international freight station at Hangzhou Airport, the construction area of the East District International Freight Station is nearly five times that of the old freight station, reaching 156700 square meters, and the annual cargo throughput guarantee capacity is 600000 tons. This provides high-quality guarantee for the upcoming Hangzhou Asian Games and will also effectively promote the "upgrading" of the international air cargo infrastructure in the province.

The Hangzhou Airport East Area International Freight Station is a key project and Asian Games support project in Zhejiang Province, with a total investment of 1.489 billion yuan. It adopts a three-layer structure design and is divided into public freight stations, express/cross-border centers, and agency areas. In addition to the main cargo station, there are also related facilities such as car platforms, comprehensive business buildings, customs inspection centers, special transport warehouses, customs checkpoints, and airside management rooms. From January to June this year, the cargo and mail throughput of airports in Zhejiang Province was 543400 tons, ranking fourth among major provinces in China, with a year-on-year increase of 13.12% and a growth rate among the top ten provinces in China; Among them, Hangzhou Airport completed a cargo and mail throughput of 424400 tons, ranking fifth among major airports in China, with a year-on-year increase of 6.21%. It is one of the only three airports in the top ten airports in China that have achieved positive growth in cargo and mail throughput.

In terms of international freight, since the beginning of this year, a total of 40 full freight routes have been opened at port airports in the province, with 32 stable operations.
